The Willcox Meth Task Force (WMTF) was established on July 13, 2005. With assistance from the Partnership for a Drug Free America/AZ Chapter, a collaboration was formed between of Northern Cochise Community Hospital (NCCH), Willcox Against Sustance Abuse (WASA), and the Willcox Police Department (WPD) to assist the Willcox community fight the devastating effects from meth.
The WMTF believes the best treatment of meth is the Prevention of Its First Use! The goal of the WMTF is to proactively educate the community about meth. By teaching how meth is the most devasting drug a community can be exposed to, it is our intent to decrease meth-related crime, to decrease meth-related illness, to decrease meth labs in our community, and to decrease meth use, especially meth's first use.
Meth is:
Made from the decongestant Sudafed
Addictive from its first use
A leading cause of crime
An Endangered Child issue resulting in increased Foster Care demand
Is made in labs which are costly to clean-up and dangerous to the environment
Designed by WHS Mr. Miller's AV Class
2008 - 2009
If you would like to learn more about meth and its devastation on your community, how to obtain a presentation for your community organization, or how to start a proactive anti-meth campaign for your community, please contact us.
